Website use, enrolment and training terms
In these terms:
By using this website, submitting an enquiry or application, or enrolling on a programme, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or enrol.
Where a signed enrolment agreement, learnership agreement or service level agreement exists between us, that document takes precedence over these terms to the extent of any conflict.
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You may not:
We make reasonable efforts to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, and content may be updated or corrected without notice.
Our website includes an AI-powered chat assistant. It is provided for general convenience only. Its answers are generated automatically, may be incomplete or incorrect, and do not constitute advice, a quotation, an offer, or a binding representation by Skhatsi-itstime.
Do not enter your ID number, banking details, passwords or health information into the chat. Anything that affects your money, your enrolment or your certification must be confirmed in writing by us before you rely on it.
Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. Enrolment is confirmed only once we have issued written confirmation and, where fees apply, received payment or a valid purchase order from a sponsor.
You must provide accurate and complete information, and supply supporting documents on request, including certified copies of your identity document and qualifications. Providing false information is grounds for immediate cancellation of enrolment without refund, and may be reported to the relevant authority.
We may decline an application where entry requirements are not met, where a programme is full, or where a programme does not run.
| Notice given before the programme start date | Refund of fees paid |
|---|---|
| More than 14 days | Full refund, less any non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred |
| 7 to 14 days | 50% refund |
| Less than 7 days, or after the programme has started | No refund |
Cancellations must be sent in writing to info@skhatsi-itstime.co.za. The date we receive your written notice is the date used to calculate the refund.
You may transfer your place to a later intake once, at no charge, if you give us at least 7 days' written notice before the start date.
Where you enrol online as a consumer, section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 may give you a right to cancel within seven days without reason or penalty, subject to the exclusions in that section. Where that right applies, we will refund you within 30 days, and we may charge you the direct cost of returning any goods supplied.
We may cancel or reschedule a programme where minimum numbers are not met, or where circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent delivery. If we cancel and cannot offer you a suitable alternative date, we will refund all fees you have paid for that programme in full. Our liability in that event is limited to the refund of those fees.
Programmes may be delivered in person, online, or as a blend of both, as described in the programme outline. We may change the venue, trainer, timetable or delivery mode where reasonably necessary, provided the learning outcomes and total contact time are not materially reduced.
Learners are responsible for their own internet access and a device capable of accessing the learning platform, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
You agree to attend as scheduled, to complete assessments by the due dates, and to conduct yourself respectfully towards trainers, staff and fellow learners. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, intimidation, plagiarism, or any conduct that disrupts learning or endangers others.
Where a learner materially breaches this clause, we may suspend or terminate their enrolment. Where fees have been paid, no refund is due in those circumstances. Where a learnership or workplace placement is involved, we will notify the sponsor and the relevant authority as required.
Minimum attendance requirements apply to programmes carrying credits or external certification. These are set out in the programme outline. Failure to meet them may make you ineligible for certification.
Assessment is conducted against the published assessment criteria for the programme. Where applicable, assessment is subject to internal and external moderation, and results are provisional until moderation is complete.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) applications are assessed on the evidence you submit. An RPL application fee, where charged, covers the assessment of your application and is not refundable if the outcome is unsuccessful. Submitting an RPL application does not guarantee that credits will be awarded.
Certificates and statements of results are issued only once all assessment requirements have been met and all fees have been paid in full. A fee may apply to replacement or re-issued certificates.
We do not guarantee employment, a specific salary, or a specific examination result. Outcomes depend on your own effort, aptitude and the state of the labour market.
Our programmes fall into different categories, and it is important that you understand which one you are enrolling on before you pay:
Vendor certification training — preparation for certifications awarded by third-party technology vendors. The certification is awarded by the vendor, not by us, and is subject to that vendor's own requirements and fees.
Occupational programmes — programmes offered under the quality assurance of the QCTO and the relevant SETA. Where our accreditation for a specific programme is still in progress rather than granted, we will tell you so in writing before you enrol, and you may withdraw your application at that point with a full refund of anything paid.
Short courses and skills programmes — delivered against our own curriculum and certified by us. These carry a Skhatsi-itstime certificate of completion and are not, on their own, a national qualification.
The current accreditation status of any programme is stated on that programme's page and in your enrolment confirmation. If anything is unclear, ask us in writing before you pay.
Where we book or host external certification examinations on your behalf, those examinations are governed by the examination provider's own terms, policies and identification requirements. You must comply with them. Examination fees and voucher terms are set by the provider, and vouchers usually carry an expiry date. We are not responsible for an examination result, for a provider's decision to invalidate a result, or for a voucher that expires unused.
All content on the platform, and all learning material we supply — including slides, manuals, workbooks, assessments, question banks, videos and templates — is owned by Skhatsi-itstime or licensed to us, and is protected by the Copyright Act, 1978.
You may use the material for your own study. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, resell, or use it to deliver training to others, without our prior written permission. Third-party vendor material remains the property of that vendor and is subject to its licence terms.
You retain ownership of work you submit for assessment. By submitting it, you grant us a licence to store, reproduce and moderate it for assessment, moderation, verification and quality assurance purposes.
Your portal and learning management system account is personal to you. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
Sharing your login, or sharing course content with people who have not enrolled, is a material breach of these terms and may result in your account being suspended without refund.
We may suspend or close an account that has been inactive for an extended period, or where fees remain unpaid.
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it before enrolling, particularly the sections on statutory reporting to the QCTO and SETAs and on reporting to sponsors who fund your training.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 where it applies to you.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
We are not in breach of these terms, and are not liable for delay or failure to perform, where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including load shedding and extended power failure, failure of national telecommunications infrastructure, natural disaster, epidemic, civil unrest, industrial action, or an act of government. Where such an event prevents delivery for a sustained period, we will offer you a rescheduled date or a pro-rata refund.
Please raise any complaint with us first, in writing, at info@skhatsi-itstime.co.za. We will acknowledge within 5 working days and respond substantively within 15 working days.
Assessment results may be appealed in writing within 10 working days of the result being released, setting out the grounds of appeal. Appeals are considered by a person who was not involved in the original assessment decision.
If a dispute is not resolved through our internal process, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve it by negotiation before either party institutes legal proceedings. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from applying for urgent interim relief.
